EA Sports Active – Better than Wii Fit?

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Electronic Arts jumps into the interactive fitness market with EA Sports Active.  This game and it's accessories allows gamers to get fit and compete with each other at the same time.  EA took notice of the strengths of Wii Fit as well as the weaknesses and created an interactive and competitive fitness game.  There are workouts for the upper body, the lower body, and cardio.  For those that have the Wii Fit Balance Board, you can use that as part of the control scheme as well.  Purchasing the multiplayer pack allows two players to play at one time and compete against each other in different exercises.

Overall, the EA Sports Active bundle is good buy for those looking to get in shape without having to spend hours at the gym.  The 30 day training regiment with daily 20 minute workouts is sure to get your blood pumping.  The fact that exercise difficulty can be changed is an added feature.  The workouts are a combination of exercises that flow from one to the other, unlike the Wii Fit where you had to complete an exercise and then choose another.  If you were a little disappointed in the Wii Fit or are looking for new fitness challenges, be sure to check out EA Sports Active today.

I wore my Polar watch and it said I burned 868 calories. Is that for real? I work out every other day at home or at the gym and on my off days I do the Wii Fit. I'm seriously hoping that number is correct.

Star Wars Force Unleashed Tip for Wii

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

When I fired up this game, I noticed that everything appeared a little dark.  I played through the first few levels and was doing ok, but I wasn't loving the gameas much as I thought I would, mainly do to everything being hard to see.  I stumbled across a little tip that helped improve things greatly.

If the game is too dark, go into the options screen.  Choose Video and make sure the brightness is highlighted.  Move the slider for the brightness all the way to the right so that it's maxed out and then move it to the left two times.  This really made things a lot better for me.  Everything is brighter and clearer.  Some people slide the brightness back a little on Felucia since it can be hard to see with the brightness up.

Hope that helps some people get more enjoyment out of the game.  Now if they find a way to make the camera not so crazy.....
